Why Did Jesus Let Judas Eat With Him?

For when you were betrayed, or you are the one who did the betraying.

The words

You would never feed the one who betrays you. Jesus did.

At the last supper, he already knew.

He dipped the bread himself,

and placed it in Judas's hand.

In that world, the dipped bread was an honour, often given to a favoured guest.

It was not a trap. It was one last open door.

Those were the feet he had just washed.

Judas took the bread, and walked out into the night.

But the bread was real. The love was real.

He knows everything you will do. He hands you the bread anyway.

A verse to hold on to

“He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.”

John 13:26 (KJV)
